the installation "urbane wane" has to do with taking a realistic look at the products we consume and how that consumption effects economies, environments, and land and humanitarian rights. with this work i hope to hit a nerve about concerning planned obsolescence, ultra convenience, and the ineffectual ways we dispose of the waste that most current production formats generate.

by creating objects of mass production by hand, using time-honoured craft and art traditions, i hope to express a futility in the end product. "why would someone spend all that time making the same trash that you could just pick up in the street?" i see this as similar to the futile and unsustainable path we as developed nations have sought out in our capitalistic, greed driven globalization of production.
